Job SummaryThe Civil Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. This role acts as the primary technical point of contact between the project management team, subcontractors, and site labor, translating engineering plans into practical execution.Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & Supervision: Manage daily construction operations, supervise subcontractors and labor crews, and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.Technical Coordination: Interpret structural, architectural, and MEP drawings; resolve any discrepancies between design and site conditions by coordinating with the design/consultant team.Quality Assurance & Control: Conduct regular inspections of materials, workmanship, and completed works to ensure compliance with project quality standards and IS/International codes. Prepare and maintain inspection checklists and test reports.Surveying & Setting Out: Supervise/perform site surveys and setting-out activities using total stations, auto levels, and GPS equipment to establish accurate gridlines, levels, and alignment.Material & Resource Management: Indent materials in advance, verify delivered quantities and quality, avoid wastage, and manage inventory of construction materials and equipment on site.Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Enforce strict adherence to site safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, identify potential hazards, and ensure all personnel comply with PPE and environmental regulations.Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track daily work progress against the project schedule, prepare daily/weekly reports (DPR/WPR), and flag delays or deviations to the Project Manager. Update bar charts and planned vs. actual status.Billing & Documentation: Record measurements of executed work, prepare joint measurement sheets for running account (RA) bills, and maintain as-built documentation for variation claims and reconciliation.Client & Stakeholder Communication: Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and government authorities when required, and professionally represent the company’s interests on site.
