Social Media Manager - Intern
Job Description
About the Role
This is a learning-first internship for someone who wants hands-on practice in social media marketing. You won't be expected to magically grow our accounts instead, you'll work alongside our team to understand how a real brand thinks about content, community, and strategy. We'll teach you the fundamentals, give you a safe space to experiment, and help you build a portfolio of real work that you can show future employers.
Please note: We're a lean team and cannot offer a salary at this stage. We're offering our time, mentorship, and a live environment to practice in. If you're looking for a place to learn by doing and to leave with concrete proof of your skills this is designed for you.
What You'll Learn & Practice
How to plan and schedule content across platforms like Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.
Writing captions, designing simple graphics (Canva is fine), and creating short-form videos (CapCut, etc.) we'll teach you our brand voice and visual style.
How to engage with an audience: responding to comments and DMs in a way that builds real community.
Basic analytics: what to track, how to spot what's working, and how to present insights.
Brainstorming and pitching ideas for content, threads, and campaigns and seeing what actually lands.
Staying current with trends and learning how to evaluate which ones are worth trying.
You'll be working directly with someone on the team who will review your drafts, give feedback, and explain the why behind each decision. This is not a "post and ghost" role.
What We're Looking For
You're genuinely curious about social media and what makes people stop scrolling.
You enjoy writing and can adapt your tone for different platforms.
You have a basic visual eye you can put together a clean-looking post or clip (no pro software needed).
You're proactive and comfortable sharing half-baked ideas we'll shape them together.
No professional experience required. We care about your potential, not your CV.
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
A personal social page, meme account, or any small project where you've experimented with content.
Familiarity with scheduling tools (Buffer, Later, etc.) or a willingness to learn.
What You'll Gain
A portfolio of real published content you can proudly show with metrics and the story behind each piece.
Mentorship and honest, constructive feedback on your writing, design thinking, and strategy.
The experience of working inside a team, with a real content calendar, brand guidelines, and deadlines.
A reference and letter of recommendation that reflects your growth and contributions.
When you're ready for a full-time role, we'll help you articulate the skills you built here whether that's with us (if the path opens) or elsewhere.
